Overview Google Africa Applied AI Lab is a programme for African AI entrepreneurs and researchers who want to build AI-powered products with Africa-focused impact. Based at the Accra AI Community Centre in Ghana and connected to the Google AI Futures Fund, the lab pairs selected teams with Google experts to co-develop AI solutions. The programme is designed as a zero-to-one commercialisation platform, helping founders and researchers bridge the gap between AI research and market-ready products. Selected startups will work on real-world African challenges while using Google AI in a meaningful way. Eligibility Google is looking for current full-time founders and top researchers who are looking to become startup founders. Applicants should have big ideas that drive impact in Africa across the programme focus areas: future of work, knowledge, software development, creativity and entertainment. Preference is given to startups with funding and commercial traction from pre-seed to Series A, but Google says it considers all founders and researchers with great ideas and a strong plan for how to build them.
