About this opportunity
The e-MOVE Agribusiness Kickstart Competition invites young and emerging entrepreneurs to turn ideas in the cashew value chain into investment-ready, climate-smart ventures. It is organised by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through the Agri-Business Facility for Africa and MOVE-ComCashew projects as part of German Development Cooperation.
Prizes and support
Selected winners can receive either €2,000 in direct funding to develop their business or operational technology such as a laptop, tablet or software. The required e-MOVE online learning pathway is free, and there is no competition entry fee.
How to enter
Applicants must register through atingi or the e-MOVE landing page and complete the required e-MOVE learning pathway, including Introduction to Conservation Agriculture and Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness. They must then use the official Business Model Canvas template to prepare an AgriCanvas for their cashew-related venture.
The official submission form requires the certificate ID from Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness, the full AgriCanvas entered directly in the form, a description of the venture's climate-smart or resilience component, its revenue model, and an estimate of the capital required to start or scale. Only one idea may be submitted per applicant in the current window. Successful applicants are expected to be contacted by mid-December 2026.
Submissions close on 30 October 2026. The organiser has not stated a closing time or timezone.
Who should consider it
Applicants must be aged 18 or older, based in a member state of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and have an innovative agribusiness idea related to the cashew value chain. They must complete the required e-MOVE courses and provide a valid certificate ID from Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness. The idea must be submitted through the official form and meet the stated cashew-value-chain, climate-smart or resilience, revenue-model and capital-needs requirements. Ideas outside the eligible value chain and submissions without the required certificate ID are not considered.
