About this opportunity

ABIL Explore supports early-stage Earth Observation ideas, technologies and applications moving from concept toward validated products, services or technologies. The programme covers upstream and downstream innovation, including satellite systems and AI-enabled Earth Observation applications across agriculture, climate, energy, infrastructure, health and mobility. Selected projects receive technical coaching, co-design support, structured feasibility support and funding of up to EUR 50,000. The indicative activity duration is up to nine months. Applications received by 11 September 2026 at 1:00 p.m. EAT will be considered in the 2026 evaluation round.

Who should consider it

Applicants must be Kenyan startups or SMEs, universities, or research organisations developing or validating innovative Earth Observation-related technologies, applications or services. Proposals should define a minimum viable product or service and a business case that validates technical functions and commercial potential.
